OUR PROCESS
What happens from application to closing?
There’s paperwork, a property review and a few decisions along the way. Here’s what to expect and how we’ll work through it with you.

The mortgage process, explained
Step 1 of 4
Start with a conversation
Tell us where you want to buy, when you hope to move and what feels comfortable each month. You don’t need a house picked out.
What you leave with: A next step based on your plans and questions.
“He took the time to explain every step, answered all of our questions promptly, and always had our best interests in mind.”
Jay Ribbens

Why does the team ask for more documents?
The underwriter checks that the application and property meet the loan requirements. They may need a newer bank statement, updated pay information or an explanation of something in the file. We’ll tell you what’s needed.
Let us know if your job, debts or down payment funds change while the loan is in progress. Before sending closing funds, confirm the instructions using a trusted phone number.
Stuck on a document or a deadline?
Call the team and tell us what you’ve received. We’ll explain what it means and what you need to do.

Payment estimates
Calculators are educational tools. Results use your inputs and assumptions and are not a rate quote, Loan Estimate, preapproval or guarantee. Actual payments and costs may differ. Include taxes, insurance, mortgage insurance and association dues where applicable.
Refinancing and home equity
Refinancing can involve closing costs and may increase total interest or extend repayment. A lower monthly payment does not necessarily mean a lower total cost. Compare the proposed terms with your existing loan. Borrowing against your home puts your home at risk if you cannot repay.
Application and account access
Apply now and Sign in lead to ShayMak’s existing external application portal. Review that portal’s privacy policy and terms before submitting personal or financial information. An application does not guarantee approval or a specific rate.
